Today, multiple players for the Baltimore Ravens sustained injuries during organized team activities. This is not an encouraging sign for Ravens fans, however, most of these injuries appear to be minor. Wide receiver Michael Campanero exited practice today after spraining his toe. As one would expect, this is not a major issue for Campanero. The Ravens organization is calling this more of a nuisance than a series injury. Campanero is lucky that this should not keep him out of practice for long, as he is fighting for his position on the depth chart at both wide receivers and kick/punt returner. Along with Campanero, cornerback Sheldon Price also left practice today, with what may be a concussion. The medical staff for the Ravens pulled Price in order to evaluate him for the potential of a concussion. It is currently unknown whether he has a concussion or not, and hopefully, he does not. Price, like Campanero, is fighting for his position on the depth chart. He is also fighting to be on the roster entirely. Since joining the Ravens in 2015, he has only made one tackle, with no other statistics. Along with these two potentially minor injuries, defensive tackle Carl Davis was kept from practicing today, as he is currently dealing with a strained pectoral. The injury doesn’t seem to be very serious, however, it should be treated with care going forward to prevent any more injuries. Davis was drafted in 2015 by the Ravens and is still looking to have his breakout season. This offseason is also crucial for him, as he has an opportunity to prove his worth after the Ravens traded away defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan.

Despite most of these injuries being somewhat minor, a more major injury occurred today to one of the rising stars of the Baltimore Ravens, cornerback Tavon Young. Young, now going into his sophomore season in the NFL, broke onto the scene in 2016 after being drafted in the fifth round out of Temple. Young had a major impact on the defense, totaling 53 tackles and two interceptions, and was also able to heavily contribute towards the special teams unit. According to sources, Young was assisted by team trainers and medical staff after suffering an apparent knee injury. The severity of this injury is currently unknown, and the Ravens’ medical staff is working to evaluate this injury. Hopefully, this injury is nothing serious for Young, as the Ravens cannot afford to lose their rising star for any portion of next season.
