Today, the veteran players for the Baltimore Ravens arrived for training camp. We’ve been covering the lead up to Ravens training camp over the past week. Yesterday we took a look at 5 Questions for the Ravens entering training camp. Ravens Officially Sign RB Bobby Rainey

News broke yesterday that Baltimore Ravens running back Kenneth Dixon had torn his meniscus, and would receive surgery for it. The Ravens responded very quickly, by agreeing to a deal with free agent running back Bobby Rainey. Rainey had previously been with the Ravens in 2012, before leaving for the Buccaneers in 2013. According to spotrac.com, Rainey’s deal is worth about $775,000.For the Ravens, Rainey will serve as a depth player, who fills a spot on the roster. That is, of course, if Rainey makes the team. The Ravens also have Terrance West and Danny Woodhead at running back. The Ravens will need to depend on West as the main back with Woodhead as a receiving compliment, now that Dixon is out for the season. With Dixon out, it will be interesting to see what kind of impact Rainey can make.

Baltimore Adds 6 Intern Coaches

Today, the Baltimore Ravens announced that they added 6 intern coaches to the coaching staff. These coaches were selected as part of the NFL Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship. The coaches added to the staff are Adalius Thomas, Corey Ivy, Matt Hewitt, Alex Atkins, Don Davis, and Tom Sims. Both Adalius Thomas and Corey Ivy are former Ravens players. Thomas played with the Ravens from 2000 to 2006, as an outside linebacker. Ivy played with the Ravens from 2006 to 2009, as a cornerback. Both of these coaches will coach the players of their respective former positions. Matt Hewitt is the recruiting assistant at Rutgers University. He is the brother of Ravens secondary coach Chris Hewitt. Alex Atkins is the assistant head coach of Tulane University, and Tom Sims is the defensive line coach at the University of Pittsburgh. All of these coaches will participate as coaching interns until the first preseason game, on August 10.
