Ravens running back Terrance West is expected to miss some time after injuring his calf in Sunday’s game against the Raiders. West left the game early and never returned to play. The injury, however, does not appear to be extremely serious. It is now being reported by NFL Insider Ian Rappaport, that West is expected to miss some time, however, he will not see an extended absence. This is great news for Baltimore, as the Ravens have already been devastated by injuries since the start of this offseason. West is also a very important player for the Ravens, as he is typically their lead running back.

West was not the only Raven to go down on Sunday. Ravens offensive guard Matt Skura went down with a knee injury, later revealed to be an MCL sprain. Skura is now projected to miss two to four weeks with this injury. Skura was picked up off the Ravens practice squad after starting right guard Marshal Yanda went down with a season-ending ankle injury. Jermaine Eluemunor, the London born rookie out of Texas A&M, will likely get the nod at right guard until Skura returns. Eluemunor has looked good in the time he has played and should be able to help the Ravens offensive line stay afloat.

Ravens defensive tackle Carl Davis also exited Sunday’s game against the Raiders early. Davis apparently suffered a hamstring injury during the game and did not return. Cornerback Jimmy Smith also has been dealing with an injury. The veteran cornerback has been dealing with a sore Achilles and was held to just seven snaps on Sunday. His injury appears to be lightening up, but Ravens head coach John Harbaugh wants to err on the side of caution. Jimmy Smith has been a lockdown cornerback this season, and keeping him healthy is the main priority for the Ravens.
