Three Baltimore Ravens have been named to the 2018 Pro Bowl rosters. Safety Eric Weddle, inside linebacker C.J. Mosley, and outside linebacker Terrell Suggs are all invited to play in the NFL’s annual all-star game. All three of these fantastic players are no strangers to the Pro Bowl. Eric Weddle has been named to 4 previous Pro Bowls, making this his fifth invitation. Ravens 2014 first round draft pick C.J. Mosley is being named to his third Pro Bowl in just the first four years of his career. The one with the most Pro Bowl experience out of the bunch is Terrell Suggs. Suggs is now a seven-time Pro Bowler, making the game for the first time since the 2013 season (the 2014 Pro Bowl).

For all three of these players, the 2017 campaign has been nothing short of stellar. Eric Weddle has been a solid presence in Baltimore’s secondary and was able to snag 6 interceptions this season. That ties him with Kevin Byard of the Titans and A.J. Bouye of the Jaguars for second most interceptions in the NFL. C.J. Mosley has been a tackling machine for Baltimore this season. He has recorded the sixth most tackles this season in the NFL so far. Finally, there’s the ageless wonder Terrell Suggs. The longtime Raven recorded his seventh double-digit sack season. He also made 32 total tackles. Suggs is tied for sixth-most sacks in the NFL, with 11.

Although the Ravens are able to send three players to the Pro Bowl this year, the all-star game is still missing a few very important Ravens. Kicker Justin Tucker, punter Sam Koch, and cornerback Jimmy Smith are noticeably missing from the roster. Both Tucker and Koch are special team wonders, who are the best at their position in the league. Tucker is the most accurate kicker in NFL history, while Sam Koch has been more of an asset to the Ravens than certain members of the offense. Both have quietly had stellar seasons, and it is a shame that they would be snubbed from the Pro Bowl. Jimmy Smith, on the other hand, had a not-so-quiet season. Smith was a lockdown cornerback all season before injuring his Achilles against the Lions. Smith has never received proper respect by the NFL for his contribution to the Ravens. He has never made a Pro Bowl, and despite the amazing season he had, Smith will miss it again this year.
