Baltimore Ravens free agent wide receiver, Michael Campanaro, has reportedly struck a deal with the Tennessee Titans. Campanaro, 27, played for the Baltimore Ravens since the team drafted him in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft. It was a dream come true for Campanaro, as the Wake Forest product is originally from Maryland. While playing for his hometown team, Campanaro was primarily used as a punt and kick returner. He became one of the better returners in the league, and made electrifying plays for the Baltimore Ravens, especially in 2017. Campanaro also had a role as a depth wide receiver in the Ravens offense. His best statistical season at wide receiver came last year, as he caught 19 passes, for 173 yards, and one touchdown.

Campanaro had trouble with injuries during his four years in Baltimore. He never played a full, 16 game season, during his time in the NFL. The myriad of injuries gained him a reputation as a player who routinely found himself on the injured reserve. Campanaro sat out the entirety of the 2016 NFL season, with a calf injury. He was waived but later re-signed that season.

Campanaro is now reported to have signed a one year deal with the Tennessee Titans. By adding Campanaro to the roster, the Titans are getting an instant starter at the kick and punt return slot. Campanaro could also find time at wide receiver, playing with quarterback Marcus Mariota. The Ravens reportedly were in talks with Michael Campanaro’s agent, but obviously, were not able to come up with a deal. This marks the third wide receiver that the Ravens have lost this offseason. The Ravens lost Mike Wallace and Michael Campanaro in free agency and cut Jeremy Maclin. For Chris Moore and Tim White, this departure makes their spots all the more secure. Moore’s role will surely expand in 2018. Tim White will return from the injured reserve, after a stellar preseason as a kick/punt returner and wide receiver, hoping to win the position.
