Over the past couple of months, we’ve been examining some early round draft prospects that would make sense for the Ravens. Now, with the draft rapidly approaching, we are going to be taking a good look at some mid to late round prospects, as well as some early round prospects. Today, specifically, we are going to look at three mid to late round wide receivers with tons of potential, that would make sense for the Ravens to draft. Chris Godwin – WR – Penn State

Chris Godwin is by far my favorite prospect in this year’s draft. I was first introduced to Godwin while watching the Rose Bowl game this year, when Penn State took on USC. During the Rose Bowl, Godwin was seemingly unstoppable. He caught nine passes, for a whopping 187 yards, and two touchdowns. Godwin stood out and proved to everyone that he can perform, and dominate, in the most important game of the year. Penn State ultimately lost the Rose Bowl, but Godwin’s performance kept them in the game. The 6’1″ 209 pound receiver totaled for 154 receptions, 2421 yards, and 18 touchdowns during his three year career at Penn State. Godwin is a great, dependable receiver, and although he is not the most flashy, he has the most potential to evolve into an elite NFL wide receiver. Godwin will most likely be drafted between the late second round, and the mid third round. If the Ravens snag him in the draft, they will add an outstanding receiver with massive amounts of potential to the roster.

Dede Westbrook – WR – Oklahoma

The fact that more people aren’t talking about talking about Dede Westbrook is insane. In 2016, Westbrook was one of five finalists for college football’s most prestigious award, the Heisman Trophy. Westbrook transferred to Oklahoma in 2015 after attending Blinn College for two years. He started all 13 games for Oaklahoma in 2015, where he caught 46 passes, for 743 yards. After his respectable season in 2015, he surpassed all expectation in 2016, receiving 80 passes, for 1524 yards. At 6’0″, 179 pounds, he’s tall enough to make contested catches, while light enough to evade defenders. I could easily see him filling the role of a slot receiver for the Ravens, with Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman on lining up near the sidelines. Westbrook will most likely be drafted between the third and forth rounds, making him a steal for whoever drafts him. If the Ravens do draft him, they will get an explosive offensive weapon ready to dominate.

K.D. Cannon – WR – Baylor

To be perfectly honest, I had no idea who K.D. Cannon was just a few months ago. That all changed when I sat down and watched the NFL Combine. I quickly took notice after he ran a 4.41 second 40 yard dash. The more I watched the 5’11”, 182 pound receiver, the more I loved this prospect. His combine drills were fantastic, but that isn’t the only thing fantastic about him. His outstanding play at Baylor earned him multiple awards and honors, including First Team All Big-12 in 2016. Cannon is a very consistent receiver. In 2014, he caught 58 passes for 1030 yards, in 2015 he caught 50 passes for 868 yards, and in 2016 he caught 87 passes for 1215 yards. Cannon was a reliable target for the Baylor Bears, and his play in college should merit him a good rating by NFL scouts. However, he is currently projected to go within the third and forth rounds of the NFL Draft. He is another receiver that would be a solid pick during those rounds, and if the Ravens do pull the trigger and draft him, they will get a consistent producer to add to their offense.
