Hello everyone and welcome to The Baltimore Feather’s LIVE Article for this week’s preseason matchup. The Baltimore Ravens will take on the nearby franchise Washington Redskins in the first game of the preseason. If you’re new to The Baltimore Feather, or our LIVE articles, here is a quick explanation. We regularly update these articles with major events, in this cases plays and game analysis. All reactions are posted as the game is happening. This is our first LIVE article for a Ravens football game, and we are excited to watch along with you all. Kickoff is at 7:30, so get comfortable, and ready for some Ravens football!

7:37 PM EDT: Kickoff in Baltimore and we have officially returned to Ravens football!

7:40 PM EDT: The Ravens shut down the Redskins offense, 3 and out first drive. Nice sack by Brent Urban on 3rd.

7:43 PM EDT: The Ravens offense had a three and out on their first possession. Tim White had a nice little juke move on his first carry. (Was a jetsweep or something). Mallet missed Campanaro on a mid range pass down the field. Was catchable though, Campanaro should have caught the ball.

7:45 PM EDT: The Redskins start their drive on the 3 yard line. Kirk Cousins still in at QB. Brent Urban again making his presence felt. Really nice tackle for loss on the Redskins running back, Kelly. Hope Urban continues this domination. Tim White didn’t have a lot of room after the Redskins punted, but had a decent return of a few yards.

7:52 PM EDT: Ravens again can’t get it done on offense. No running holes for West, Mallet off target on third down.

7:56 PM EDT: Another failed drive by the Redskins offense, this time with Colt McCoy in at QB. CB Roberston Daniel who I noticed struggled at the open practice in Annapolis gets called for holding on the punt return. Not good for him trying to make the team.

7:59 PM EDT: Buck Allen getting some reps makes me happy. Feel like he got a raw deal last year.

8:07 PM EDT: Although the Ravens scored on this drive, I was not impressed. Relied on 2 penalties to keep the drive alive. One pass interference on 3rd down, and one illegal formation on a rare, missed field goal by Justin Tucker. West basically carried the rest of the drive for the TD. Mallet still struggling is a bad sight.

8:17 PM EDT: With the first quarter in the books, the Ravens’ defense is looking very impressive tonight. Jaylen Hill and Brent Urban are making plays. The Ravens offense has been dormant aside from Terrance West. Hope Mallet starts to actually play well soon.

8:23 PM EDT: Brent Urban continues to dominate with a strip on Redskins running back Samaje Perine. The Redskins are also shooting themselves in the foot with all these flags. Tim White hasn’t had a chance to return much, another fair catch by him.

8:30 PM EDT: The Ravens offense again comes up short on 3rd down. Mallet showed off his arm throwing deep, but it was a very bad idea as the intended receiver, Chris Matthews, was covered by 2 defenders. On the bright side, Sam Koch had a very nice punt.

8:36 PM EDT: Nice forced fumble by ILB Patrick Onwuasor. Going under review. Don’t know if it will stand.

8:39 PM EDT: Fumble overturned. 🙁

9:03 PM EDT: Nice showing by both sides in the second quarter. The offensive picked up and the defense continued to dominate. Jaylen Hill had a nice pick on Colt McCoy. Mallet got the team into field goal range, and Tucker nailed a 59 yard field goal to end the half. 13-0 Ravens at the half.

9:16 PM EDT: The Ravens start the second half. Two penalties on the Ravens on the return.

9:20 PM EDT: Dustin Vaughan has no luck at QB, got sacked on 3rd. Kenny Allen has a nice punt.

9:23 PM EDT: Dustin Hopkins’ kick is good from 49. Didn’t think he’d make it but I guess I was wrong. Reggie Porter had a nice pass break up on the previous play. Another undrafted rookie making his case for the roster.

9:37 PM EDT: Was hoping to see Keenan Reynolds have a nice return on the punt but unfortunately it wasn’t returnable touchback. I’ very intrigued by the wide receiver, and I want to see more of him tonight. Tyus Bowser played well that drive stuffing the run.

9:43 PM EDT: Really impressed with Mizzell that drive. Had a couple of nice runs. Fought really hard for his yards. Dissapointed in Matt Skura and Josh Woodrum, had a bad center to quarterback exchange there. Almost fumbled the snap.

9:52 PM EDT: What an explosive drive by the Ravens. Keenan Reynolds had a huge punt return to set up Josh Woodrum and the offense. First play Woodrum throws deep to Tim White for a touchdown. Excellent drive overall. Love both White and Reynolds.

10:01 PM EDT: John Harbaugh won the challenge that the Redskins tight end Garner did not catch the ball, now fourth down for Washington. Keenan Reynolds lets the punt roll back into the endzone for a touchback.

10:16 PM EDT: Impressive drive by both quarterback Josh Woodrum and running back Taquan Mizzell. Both fight for yards very aggressively. Woodrum as a quarterback I had never heard of until he was signed by Baltimore as a camp arm. He’s making a case to be the third string quarterback. Mizzell is very quick, elusive, and aggressive. Fights for yards. Justin Tucker kicked a field goal to make the game now 23-3.

10:27 PM EDT: The Ravens should be happy with Bronson Kaufusi’s performance tonight so far. He has been pressuring the quarterback very well, and got a sack too.

10:36 PM EDT: Quarterback Josh Woodrum takes the knee to end the game. The final score is 23-3, Ravens defeat the Redskins. Our player of the game is Brent Urban, with 2 sacks and one forced fumble. The Ravens will travel to Miami next week to play the Dolphins on Thursday night. Impressive performances by Buck Allen, Taquan Mizzell, Jaylen Hill, Josh Woodrum, Keenan Reynolds, Tim White, and of course, Justin Tucker. Thanks for spending the game with us here on The Baltimore Feather! We will see you next week in Miami! Stay tuned for our in depth game review, being published tomorrow!
