This week the Baltimore Ravens are taking on the New Orleans Saints in the fourth and final preseason game. If you’re new to The Baltimore Feather, or our LIVE articles, here is a quick explanation. We regularly update these articles with major events, in this cases plays and game analysis. All reactions are posted as the game is happening. We hope you are ready for some Ravens football, we know we are! The game is starting tonight at 8:00 PM EDT, so grab some snacks and get ready for this preseason week three matchup!

8:08 PM EDT – The New Orleans Saints kick off to the Ravens to start the game.

8:11 PM EDT – The Ravens started out with a 3 and out on offense. Ryan Mallet threw a couple of really bad passes, and Kenny Allen had a really bad punt. Not a good start for the Baltimore Ravens.

8:13 PM EDT – The Ravens defense was able to hold the Saints to a three and out. Bam Bradley, a player on the bubble of making the team, had a very big hit on a Saints player with the ball. Still very impressed with most of the Ravens defenders, especially the lower tier ones. They are playing very well as roster bubbles.

8:21 PM EDT – The Ravens had a very nice second drive, this time led by Bobby Rainey. Rainey had both a rush for 23 yards and a reception for 11 yards on the drive. Baltimore was moving down the field well, but a failed to come up with a first down on third down. Matt Skura was flagged for the first penalty of the night. Kenny Allen had a very nice punt, compared to his last, putting the Saints deep in their own territory. Really like what I saw from Rainey, but I still doubt he will make the team.

8:31 PM EDT – The Ravens now have the lead in the game. Defensive tackle Carl Davis picked off Chase Daniel’s pass deep in Saints territory. The Ravens then started their drive in the red zone. They worked their way down to the one-yard line where Ryan Mallet threw a one-yard touchdown to Chris Moore. Baltimore now leads it 7-0, as Kenny Allen’s PAT kick was converted.

8:47 PM EDT – At the end of the first quarter, the Ravens lead it 7-0. Before the quarter ended, Ravens’ rookie cornerback Marlon Humphrey pushed out the ball from a Saints player, Patrick Onwausor came up with the recovery. The Ravens defensive depth is unreal and continues to make plays. Thaddeus Lewis is now in at quarterback and is showing some strength in the pocket. It’s interesting to see him in first as opposed to Josh Woodrum. This may be a sign that Baltimore likes Lewis more than Woodrum, or maybe I’m looking into this too much.

9:01 PM EDT – The Ravens made a great play blocking Wil Lutz’s field goal. The block was made by Carl Davis, who also has a pass deflection and interception tonight. Wil Lutz was originally a Raven last year, coming out of college as an undrafted free agent. His time in Baltimore helped him find a starting job in New Orleans.

9:11 PM EDT – The Ravens have again found their way into the end zone, putting them up 14-0 with Kenny Allen’s PAT. Thaddeus Lewis led the Ravens on a nice drive down the field, finding Michael Campanaro on a nice pass, and running the ball himself down to the 2 yard line. Bobby Rainey finished off the drive with a 2 yard touchdown run. So far both Rainey and Mizzell look good tonight, but it would be a stretch for the Ravens to keep both. Baltimore will be giving both these backs more and more reps tonight to prove themselves.

9:30 PM EDT – The Ravens were unable to hold the Saints back with 3:21 left in the half. Chase Daniel and company were able to move down the field and score a touchdown with 15 seconds left. Daniel lit up the secondary the entire drive, and two pass interference flags were called on the Ravens defensive backs. One was called on Marlon Humphrey, the other on Reggie Porter. We probably shouldn’t complain though, as the rest of this game has been a shutout. However, it would have been nice if the Ravens could hold up during a two minute drill.

9:43 PM EDT – The Ravens kick off to the Saints to start the second half. Looking to see more of Humphrey along with Mizzell and Rainey.

9:50 PM EDT – Baltimore with a nice 3 and out to start the seonc half.

9:58 PM EDT – Keenan Reynolds made a play that may have cost him his spot on the team. He failed to recognize an obvious fair catch situation and took the ball without one. He got smacked hard instantly after catching the ball and fumbled it. The Saints are not set up deep in Baltimore territory.

10:03 PM EDT – After the Keenan Reynolds debacle, the Ravens defense was able to bend but not break. Baltimore only allowed a New Orleans field goal. The Ravens are still leading, but the deficit has been minimalized. The score is now 14-10, Ravens on top.

10:25 PM EDT – End of the third quarter, Ravens still lead it 14-10.

10:36 PM EDT – Really liked what I saw from Trevin Wade on this drive. Had a very nice pass break up before Wil Lutz kicked a field goal. With the field goal it is now 14-13, Baltimore still leading. The Saints though have put up 13 unanswered points since Baltimore last scored. Hopefully Josh Woodrum (now in the game) can make some plays and get the offense down the field.

10:44 PM EDT – Baltimore’s offense stalled out, but the Ravens got into field goal range. Kenny Allen was sent out to attempt a 52 yard field goal, but came up short. He had nice accuracy on it but didn’t have enough kick power to get it over the cross bar. The score remains 14-13, Ravens on top. Despite missing that field goal, Kenny Allen has been solid most of this preseason. I would be surpised if he doesn’t find another kicking/punting job after his time in Baltimore.

11:04 PM EDT – We have hit the two minute warning in New Orleans. The Ravens lead it 14-13 with just two minutes left.

11:15 PM EDT – New Orleans attempted a 59 yard field goal to win the game, but missed it. The Ravens take the knee on the next play to win the game 14-13. The Baltimore Feather’s player of the game is defesnive lineman Carl Davis, with one interception and one pass deflection.
